Undergraduate Application

 

To apply for OSU Undergraduate Admission, follow the steps:

Step 1.  Identify your applying category – different application requirement

ISS process international undergraduate admission, apply through ISS international undergraduate admission if you are

  • Seeking a bachelor degree
  • Not U.S. Citizen nor U.S. Permanent resident
     

(A) You are considered a  FRESHMAN APPLICANT (NEW STUDENT) if:

  • You are a citizen of any country other than the U.S.
  • You are not in the U.S. as an immigrant
  • You have earned no more than the equivalent of 24 credit hours of college-level credit after graduation from high school (higher secondary).

(B) You are considered a  TRANSFER APPLICANT if:

  • You are a citizen of any country other than the U.S.
  • You are not in the U.S. as an immigrant
  • You have earned the equivalent of 24 or more credit hours of college-level credit from an accredited U.S. college or university or a recognized post secondary level institution located outside of the U.S. after graduation from high school (Higher Secondary).

(C) You are considered an INTERNATIONAL READMISSION APPLICANT if:

  • You are a citizen of any country other than the U.S.
  • You are not in the U.S. as an immigrant and
  • You have attended OSU, but was not enrolled during the immediate past semester (summer session is not included in this definition).

(D) For Graduate admission please apply through OSU Graduate College (for both domestic and international student) 

(E) For English Language Training only, please apply through English Language Institute (ELI).

Step 2. Fill out an application

Please use your Full name that exactly matches to your passport.

Step 3. Turn in your application with ALL required documents

If you are FRESHMAN APPLICANT (New student), you need the following documents

  • International Undergraduate Application (online or paper)
  • $75 Non-refundable application fee to be paid by credit card, check drawn on U.S. Bank or money order.
  • Copy of the passport page (it's required before your application could be processed)
  • TOEFL (PBT:500/ iBT: 61) or IELTS (6.0)
  • High school transcript (average GPA 3.0 and above)
  • College transcript (if you have earn college-level credit)

If you are TRANSFER APPLICANT, you need the following documents:

  • International Undergraduate Application (online or paper)
  • $75 Non-refundable application fee to be paid by credit card, check drawn on U.S. Bank or money order.
  • Copy of the passport page (it's required before your application could be processed)
  • TOEFL (PBT:500/ iBT: 61) or IELTS (6.0)
  • Previous college transcript (average GPA 2.25 and above)

If you are READMISSION APPLICANT, you need the following documents:

  • International Undergraduate Application (online or paper) - Please specify your existing CWID number
  • $75 Non-refundable application fee to be paid by credit card, check drawn on U.S. Bank or money order.
  • Copy of the passport page (it's required before your application could be processed)
  • GPA 2.00 GPA for all majors; GPA 2.70 for engineering major. 

In certain cases, the language proficiency requirement can be waived, check this document for exceptions. 

 

Step 4. Wait for the result

It can approximately  2 weeks to know the result of your application (Admitted or rejected)

- July 4th for Applicants who are already in the U.S.

- Nov 1st for Applicants not currently in the U.S.  

- Dec 1th for Applicants who are already in the U.S. 

 

  • If you are applying for scholarships, you need to turn in your ALL application material by July 1st for Fall semester, and Oct 15th for Spring semester.
